@BBCnews The British people have decided has become a euphemism for: - 30/06/2016

Democracy doesn't mean, have a vote ... end of story. It never did and anyone telling you otherwise is lying. Real Democracy doesn't say, if you make a mistake - tough ... now jump off the cliff with the rest of the lemmings. Don't add that to its list of shortcomings. It has enough of those as it is.

If you can't have a referendum then find another way to solve the problem. The referendum did not properly solve the question about leave or remain. In a real democracy there is no rule that says you cannot repeat a process if you have reason to believe it may have been a mistake. If it was accurate then the result will be the same. But will it? "The British people have decided ... " has become a euphemism for:

  • Yes, I really am a racist or ...

  • Let's distract the public by blaming the problems of NHS, no houses, expensive houses, not enough schools on those coming to work in Britain or ...

  • The new government will give me everything they promised including that which I lost from the the EU like, farm subsidies, university research grants, restocking the seas with fish and £350 / week for the NHS. (By the way, who's going to build all those wonderful new houses if the workmen can't get in!) or ...

  • Yes I am one of those people who after being told by countless and experienced pundits to the contrary, that still believes EU will be nice to us because we are big boys now and it is to their advantage and they want to sell us cheese! or ...

  • Yes I am one of those that believes the economic engine, London is immune to a kick in the nuts or ...

  • Yes Scotland won't be allowed to have another referendum or ...

  • Who cares about Scotland anyway or ...

  • The Irish problems will never come back or ...

Have a general election. If Britain really believes in any one or more of the above, the result will be exactly the same as the first referendum. Have a general election and in a real democracy ... THE PEOPLE CAN DEMAND IT! Vote only for people who will vote in parliament NOT to ring the Article 50 bell.

A smart Britain would realize that politics to date has been problematic, ergo the two major parties can't decide on their leaders. The conservatives that started this mess can't even decide if they want a Brexiter or Remainer at the helm.

Its become as Gary Young of the Guardian News said, Article 50 has become like an orphaned baby where even the proud parents don't want to touch it! (I love that phrase!) If Britain is smart it will vote for new parliament members capable of tackling the real problems and not remain hell-bent on putting Britain on a diet (austerity).
